Early Monday morning

I woke up in the middle of the night feeling generally a bit better, less anxious and a lot more able to think clearly. I don’t know what drug they put me on but I think it’s a low enough dose that it’s acting as a mood stabilizer which is what I wanted to try and it seems to be working well.

But onto my thoughts. I can’t post a link but I read an article which said that people who have a higher than normal vitamin D intake in middle age have a lower than average chance of developing Alzheimer’s (hooray for dopamine). That made me wonder whether the British Jewish community had a higher than average rate of Alzheimer’s. Lo and behold an internet search reveals that they do because of their genes. You may wonder why I made this link but I believe with their long history in the middle east that they are naturally acclimatized to sunshine. That also ties in with my belief that the mild scoliosis both myself and my mother suffer from may come from the same need (I believe I have Jewish ancestry).

Second quick thought. Why don’t both prospective parents in a relationship have genetic tests to test for heritable diseases such as Huntingdon’s?

In fact the gene profile of every baby should be taken as soon as possible after birth to build an accurate database for prediction and detection of health needs.

I’ve had a few more interesting thoughts but my mobile battery’s nearly flat, astrophysics and global warming are for later.
